HOME. OPPORTUNITIES. IDEAS. MY PAGE.

Over the next 12 months the aim is to get all 14-16 year olds at Cornwallis and New Line Learning Academies to complete 50 hours of community activity.

Youth Community Action (YCA) can:

  • Provide you with a range of new experiences you can talk about and put on your CV.
  • Give you new skills and talents to use in other aspects of your life.
  • Get you out and about, meeting new people and making new friends.
  • Introduce you to local employers and voluntary organisations who could point you in the right direction for future jobs.

We have teamed up with a ‘Time Banking’ scheme, which rewards you with one credit for each hour you volunteer. These credits can then be exchanged for services and fun activities.

Check out the ‘Ideas’ page for activities you could do or visit the ‘Opportunities’ section where you can sign up for activities you’re interested in. There will also be lots of opportunities in school to get involved with, which can count towards your hours as well.

If you’ve already done some activities you think will count, fill in the audit sheet in form time and bank those credits.
